Christmas Time is Here!!!

Last Monday, Josh and I got our tree for Family Home Evening. I got off of work at 5:30, and the tree place closed at 6:00, so we had to rush to find the perfect tree. Ironically, the first tree we saw was the one we went home with. It took us about half an hour to realize that, but we were very pleased with it. We put it in the back seat of our car with the top hanging out the window a little bit. Josh carried it all by himself into the house. Once the tree was set up we began the festivities!!! Crackers and salami are a MUST in the Garbett family, so we continued that tradition. We also started our own tradition. We put the star on the Christmas tree first! That's right before the ornaments and lights. This was actually a really good thing because the tree top was too tall, so we had to trim it. This may have been difficult had the tree been covered in decorations. After about an hour, our tree was done, and we were full! It was such a wonderful night to begin our Christmas season!

We are hosting a Cookie exchange party at our church building on Dec. 16th. I started getting decorations and supplies for it today. I majorly hit the jackpot at the dollar store, and my creative juices started flowing. I made these centerpieces, and it only took me about a half hour to do both of them. My sister, Stacy made the invites for me, and I've already gotten so many compliments on them. I think I found my new favorite thing... Party Planning! I will be throwing more parties much more often. Of course, I should probably wait and see how this one turns out first.

I LOVE MY HUSBAND!!!

This video was actually taken about a month ago. Josh was in between classes and getting tired of homework. He showed me the video when I got home; to which I responded, "Don't you have homework or something you should be doing?"  It's nice to know Josh keeps himself sane when he's getting overwhelmed... or the opposite. I'll let you decide.
I liked his moves so much; I even used some of them in my dance class the next day!
No special effects were used in the making of this video.

Recap of the past month

I have been terrible at blogging lately, so I thought I would catch up on all of the fun things I forgot to share with everyone.

Halloween!!!
One of my co-workers and his girlfriend came over for FHE and we carved pumpkins! It was a lot of fun. Josh is a very fast pumpkin carver. After he finished he helped my carve mine. I was very pleased with how they turned out.

As you all know it is very cold in Wyoming... This is proof!

Thanksgiving!!!
This year we went to Josh's parents' house for Thanksgiving. It was a lot of fun! Josh played football with the priesthood in his old family ward, then we went paint balling. Oh yeah I forgot to mention Josh got us an early Christmas present... Paintball guns! It was my first time playing, and I had a blast. I got a cheap shot to my head from Scott, Josh's little brother, but I shot him in the face, so we were even. I also got hit on my hand, and my fingers are still sore. Josh got jacked up from some brushes, but we both had so much fun. I think battle scars make it more fun. :)
Our sister-in-law, Sarah made Thanksgiving dinner, and it was to die for! My favorite was the cranberry sauce that she made from fresh cranberries. We were sad we didn't get any leftovers because we had to leave at 5am the next morning to get me to work by 8. It was pretty lame that I had to work, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
All in all we had a great Thanksgiving. We were happy to spend it with Josh's family because we are going to my family's for Christmas. We can't wait! I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday too!

It's the Great Pumpkin!!!

Saturday we went to a pumpkin farm in Fort Collins, CO. It wasn't as fun as Bishop's Pumpkin Farm in Wheatland, CA (I don't think anything is), but it got the job done. There were a few animals such as, a pig, 2 goats, a mule, a rooster, and an emu (actually that is everything they had) . Although we could not touch or feed the animals, they kept us entertained for about 30 seconds. They had a tractor hay ride, a mountain of hay for kids to play on, and a corn maze. Oh, and let's not forget the pumpkin patch. We were planning to do the corn maze, but we forgot cash, and if we wanted to do that we would have had to pick our pumpkins first then write a check for both. However, I am stubborn, and I have a specific way of doing things. The pumpkin picking should ALWAYS be the final excursion during the pumpkin farm visit, so we skipped the corn maze altogether and just got our pumpkins. I think we picked very attractive pumpkins! After we picked our pumpkins, we started walking back to pay for them. Josh was so funny; every few steps he would stop and pick up another pumpkin and compare it to the one he already picked. In the end, he kept his original choice. It brought back memories of when I used to do that as a kid. He did well on his first pumpkin farm experience. :)

Before we drove off, Josh buckled his pumpkin in the back seat. I put mine in the trunk. We hadn't even left the parking lot and I heard my pumpkin rolling around.  I got out and moved it to the back seat; however, I did not buckle it in. After the Pumpkin farm, we went to Ross; I got some winter clothes, and Josh got a nice vest for church. Josh was hungry (if you couldn't tell from the pictures), so we treated ourselves to Dairy Queen blizzards, and drove back to Laramie.

Hair Cut!!!

I finally did it!! I cut my hair! I know that it is so typical of me to get married then chop my hair off because that's what ever girl seems to do, but I was so ready to get rid of it. So on Saturday, Josh and I drove to Cheyenne, in the first snow storm this fall, and I got my hair cut! I really like it... most of the time. Josh LOVES it! It's an A-line; I haven't had my hair this short in about 5 years, so this is exciting for me. I cut off enough to donate it to Locks of Love (about 12in), so I'm really happy about that!

The Beginning to Our Happily Ever After...

Josh and I seriously had our dream come true wedding! Everything was absolutely perfect! It was such a beautiful day, my dress and bouquet were perfect, my hair looked amazing (thanks kaysi!), the sealing was absolutely wonderful, the decorations were perfect, the cake was gorgeous (thanks Stacy!), the reception was super fun, and the whole thing was stress free (thanks again Stacy!).

Josh's brother-in-law (and mine too now), Phontaine took our pictures! He did an amazing job! Most of these are not edited or anything. He is just really great at framing and getting amazing pictures by himself.

My mom and dad took some great shots as well. I am just so amazed by how many wonderful pictures we got!

I loved everything at our reception!!! The s'mores bar, the chocolate fountain, the candy bar, the cake, dancing, decorations, even a full moon; Everything was absolutely perfect!!!!!
